Perfect family hideaway

Excellent location. A short walk to Tenby and Trefloyne Manor on the doorstep if you want some fine dining or a cosy bar with an open fire. Very peaceful and comfortable lodge. A great place to relax and recharge your batteries. We will return! — -, 08 Jan 2018
Cysgod y coed sits in the wood alongside the clubhouse of the local golf club and would be an ideal spot for a golfing holiday. it would be hard to think of anything that was not provided. The accommodation is spacious and airy, and was plenty big enough for our party of five. Also there is ample parking for two cars alongside the lodge, or a short stroll away there is the car park for the golf club. The upstairs lounge has a large flatscreen tv and views over the golf course, with a large balcony for warm evenings with a glass of wine! The kitchen is great if you wish to cook your own meals, or alternatively the golf clubhouse with its restaurant makes visitors welcome and is no more than 100 yards away. — -, 27 Sep 2017
The house is about 10 min drive away from Tenby town and is a warm, comfortable and well equipped house for everybody. Our granddaughter appreciate the use of the house toys. — -, 23 Sep 2017
Beautiful style accommodation well equipped with everything you need, plenty of room for 6 people lovely position in very quite location. — -, 16 Sep 2017
We enjoyed our stay very much can not fault the house. Spacious very clean and modern. All the rooms were very good, the kitchen is well equipped. Set in the grounds of a golf course so very peaceful, also the golf course has a very good restaurant. Tenby is 2 miles spent most time there but also took in saundersfoot. Then walked to blind mans bridge very nice walk along sea front. Pembroke and its castle well worth the visit, and manabier has a smaller castle and pleasant beach. Very relaxing week highly recommend. — -, 16 Sep 2017
We stayed here for a week with our 3 children (aged 2,4 & 6) & were blown away by how nice it was. The house was so spacious, clean, comfy, relaxing & perfectly located, it literally had everything you needed: fully equipped kitchen, hoover, towels, toys & games for the kids, hand washes, toilet rolls, pen & paper, you just need to bring yourselves! The food in the club house was sooo good, Tenby itself is so beautiful and we really wish we could pick this house up and take it with us on our next holiday! Thanks for letting us stay, we have already recommended you to friends who plan to come to Pembrokeshire. — -, 30 Aug 2017
The location was great for us, close enough to Tenby that we could walk in but nice and quiet when we came back. The property was expensively furnished. We have two young children and we were concerned that they would break something, so for us, we would have preferred slightly less ornaments. However, the owners do say put anything away that you are concerned. People with older children or groups of adults will like the decor. We were just worried about breaking something. The kitchen has everything you will possibly need. Really great. Both bathrooms were good and well cleaned. The bed upstairs was great, the down stairs ones were too soft for our taste. This is subjective and everyone will have different opinions on this. We were a bit disappointed that the skylight was dirty and we couldn't see out of it. I suspect it's a nightmare to clean and gets dirty really quickly. The outside wasn't as clean as it could have been but again we appreciate it's difficult to keep on top of. As there will be grass constantly coming from the golf club. We would stay again but when the children are older. Sunday lunch at the gold club is a must, it's brilliant. — -, 20 Aug 2017
The lodge is very spacious for a three bedroom property and well designed. It's well cleaned, tastefully furnished and has plenty of games and DVD entertainment etc for a family holiday. It is in a very relaxing and tranquil spot amongst the trees, and is close to the golf club house which provides good food and drinks. The golf club staff are very friendly and helpful, my 5 year old son had a go on the driving range and they provided clubs and quick tuition for him as he'd never played golf before. We took our bikes with us and were able to ride out of the golf club drive and onto route 4 which is mainly non traffic through Kiln Park holiday park to Tenby. Took about 20 minutes to get to the beach this way. Had a fun time at Colby Woodland gardens and of course Folly Farm, good location to get to everywhere in the area. Lovely holiday. — -, 01 Aug 2017
The property was fabulous very well equipped and furnished,. golf clubhouse only 100 yards away with fabulous food and friendly staff. We would definitely stay again. — -, 28 Jul 2017
The lodge was amazing, the facilities were clean, tidy incredibly well kept. The living area was very comfortable and spacious and easily accommodated 4 adults and 3 children. Ideal location 1.5 miles from Tenby town centre. — -, 12 Jul 2017
A lovely place with plenty of space and very comfortable. Living area is an especially pleasant place to relax. Tenby itself is fantastic, and North Beach was our favourite. Also recommend Gwili steam railway for train enthusiasts! — -, 10 Jul 2017
Absolutely loved it! So spacious and comfortable the chalet has everything and more that you could possibly want. Our men played golf which was a stones throw away and we spent leisurely hours exploring Tenby. Also visited Laugharne. I can't stress too much how there is everything in the property. Well furnished and plenty of books games and toys if needed. Could spend hours just sitting on the veranda. Couldn't think of anywhere nicer to be during the heatwave. — -, 24 Jun 2017
Stayed for a weekend with our family - it s so difficult to get us all together these days! However this was the perfect venue, we were all suprised at how beautifully it was decorated. The surrounding area is peaceful yet it is very close to all amenities. There is a lovely restaurant just a stones throw away if you fancied a night off from cooking, or there are plenty of restaurants if you wanted to venture into Tenby. Just a tip, if you are going on a weekend then be sure to book a restaurant of your choice in advance as they can quickly get booked up. This accommodation was very clean and comfortable and we would definitely want to stay here again-beautiful. — -, 13 Jun 2017
Had a lovely couple of days at cysgod y coed, stayed with friends, plenty of room and everything you needed in the lodge. Would definitely recommend. — -, 08 Jun 2017
We stayed at Cysgod y Coed for a long weekend with our 3 children and all had a great time. The lodge is comfortable with plenty of space and located in a lovely spot amongst the trees with a few other homes of the same design. We were lucky with the weather when we stayed, but there's plenty of books, games, DVD's etc there too if it's not so nice. The place was clean, tidy and warm when we arrived. We never got around to eating at Trefloyne, but we did stop in the bar for a drink and the golf club seemed very nice. Cysgod y Coed is in a good location for visiting the surrounding areas. It's about 5 minutes from Tenby by car. We went there a couple of times and took the boat to Caldey Island. We also went to Pembroke Castle and Folly Farm, both about 20 minutes away. It's also very close to Heatherton World of Activities so we stopped there before heading home. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommenced the house to others. — -, 25 Apr 2017
Just got back from our stay in Tenby, the lodge was perfect and had everything we needed. Like a home from home. The place is well kept, in a good location near to the town and there are plenty of places to visit. The owners were really helpful and replied to all my questions really promptly. The cava on arrival was also much appreciated! The lodge is clean, beautifully presented and we loved it so much, especially our 10 and 7 year olds. Cant wait to go back one day! — -, 18 Apr 2017
My family and some friends have just returned after a long weekend at Cysgod y coed. The property is stunning! Cosy and warm, with everything at hand. It's beautifully located, quiet and peacful, yet within walking distance of Tenby. The club house serves excellent food and is lovely place to unwind. We will most definitely be returning. — -, 05 Jan 2017
Thank you so much for a super stay. The lodge was beautiful and really felt like a home from home. It was in a great location; quiet and relaxing but close enough to Tenby for some fun days out. We loved eating at the Manor House too. Our favourite day out was to Folly Farm - I'd definitely recommend this to anyone with children. — -, 21 Oct 2016
This is a fabulous retreat in the woodland around Trefloyne Manor. The building itself is very comfortable, spacious and tastefully furnished and is an easy walk from Tenby. It sits on cycle route 4 and you have the bonus of using the bar and restaurant in the manor house if you prefer it to cooking for yourselves. The food and staff are excellent. Can't wait to return. Ideal for a relaxing break for a couple or for a family holiday. — -, 17 Oct 2016
We enjoyed our stay here so much that we extended our trip for an extra night. This beautiful cabin really did feel like a home from home, and the location was perfect. We will certainly be back for another visit and would highly recommend that anyone looking to stay in Tenby books this wonderful woodland lodge. The owners, Trafford and Lynn were always quick to respond and couldn't be more helpful Thanks again Steve and family. — -, 06 Oct 2016
Absolutely wonderful accommodation in a great location. The lodge is very spacious and welcoming and really felt like a home from home. The owners are very helpful and friendly also and where very accommodating to my 14 month old son. Food on site at Trefloyne Manor was great and Tenby Town Centre is less than 10 minutes drive away. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be returning. — -, 02 Oct 2016
We were visiting Tenby due to one of our party taking part in the Ironman Wales competition and were looking for a peaceful place to stay and relax before and after the event ! We were so lucky to find this haven - the lodge is equipped with anything and everything you could possibly need to have a great stay - Trafford and Lynne really have thought of everything. There are lots of tips and advice everywhere in the lodge to help you. The golf club is also well worth a visit with very welcoming bar and restaurant staff. Our Ironman completed the race in 12 hours 48 mins and it was one of the best weekends in Tenby we have ever had. We will hopefully be back to stay in 2017 but perhaps for a more relaxing weekend with no competitions ! Thank you again for your hospitality x — -, 21 Sep 2016
Our family had a lovely holiday at Cysgod y Coed. The woodland lodge is beautifully presented, was super clean upon arrival, spacious and peaceful. The open plan kitchen and dining area is ideal for family dining and is well equipped. We loved relaxing and watching the olympics on the huge television in the large upstairs living area, big comfy sofas, arm chair and balcony area looking out onto woodland. The bedrooms were all very comfortable, we all slept well!! Our children aged 6 and 10 loved the upside down lodge and enjoyed playing monopoly, making puzzles and reading books that were all supplied. My Mum loved browsing through the enormous magazine library! The location is very quiet, yet only 5 minutes drive from Tenby, the local beach and is a great stepping off point to all of Pembrokeshire. Our highlights were crabbing at Carew, wildlife cruise to Caldey Island, coastal walks, Bosherton lakes, treasure hunting, sand sculpting and flying the kite on the various beaches close by. We would happily recommend to anybody wanting to holiday in the area. — -, 14 Aug 2016
We stayed here as a family, myself and my partner and our 4 year old boy, his grandparents and uncle. Upon arrival seeing the lodge looks very nice and set in the wooded area does make you feel relaxed. Open the front door and can see how nice the place actually is well equipped for anybody that stays there. The lodge is very big and surprising how big it actually is. We would say a little more attention to cleanliness in likes of the shower and the cooker tops but a little word with Trafford and Lynn and they was straight around to sort our issues and a nice word with them got everything sorted. Highly recommend this place for people to stay you wouldn't be disappointed. Thankyou again to Trafford and Lynn for renting us ur property. — -, 06 Jul 2016
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was myself and husband, our four year and one year old daughters, plus grandparents . The lodge was plenty big enough for all of us, bedrooms are big with very comfy beds and bathrooms modern and up to date (extremely clean too I might add) The children LOVED all the toys and books that were on offer - we needn't have bothered bringing our own! Big thank you for the little touches such as washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets to get us started, we did bring our own but imagine that's very helpful for guests that forget! The golf course that the lodge is situated on was fantastic according to my husband and Dad, they played twice and used the driving range most evenings. The food in the club house was also great, lovely menu and we had our last evening meal there - highly recommend it. We hope to come back again soon, thanks Trafford! — -, 04 Jul 2016
Have just returned from a long weekend at the lodge and this is one of the best places I have stayed. There is everything you need, even toys for the children. The area is so quiet yet only a short drive from Tenby. — -, 01 Jul 2016
My husband, daughter and I spent an enjoyable 7 nights at this beautifully appointed lodge. Tastefully decorated, clean and cosy the lodge instantly felt like home. Our little girl loved it so much she didn't want to leave! The lodge itself is located in a peaceful setting overlooking the golf course, up amongst the trees. The hotel next to the lodge serves great food and although we only ate breakfast there during this visit they seemed very child friendly. The beaches and Tenby are not far from this lovely lodge which makes it a great place to explore from and a great peaceful place to retreat to at the end of the day. Thank you to Trafford and Lynne for sharing your lovely holiday home, we hope to return. — -, 07 Jun 2016
From the time I enquired about the lodge through to the end of the holiday everything was very good. Communication was easy and quick, the place itself was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The lodge itself is next to Trefloyne Manor Hotel, which is a lovely place for a round of gold, lunch, dinner etc. We used it a couple of times and would thoroughly recommend it. The lodge had everything you could wish for, books, childrens toys, dvd's, magazines - thankfully we didn't use any of that as the weather was beautiful for the whole stay and we were able to visit lots of the surrounding area. Its large too, the kitchen/diner being downstairs so that the living room upstairs feels as though you are up in the trees. It all has a feel of quality and obviously a lot of thought has gone into the décor. Thank you Trafford & Lynne - we will definitely visit again. — -, 18 May 2016
Lovely clean luxurious Lodge which our family really enjoyed. People seem friendly and polite in and around the village enjoy the pleasant walk around the village and visiting the seaside where the children had lots of fun and also buying fresh fish to cook — -, 19 Apr 2016
My daughter and I had a fantastic time away at the Lodge. We have visited the lodge twice and it has been amazing. I have never felt so much at home and my 2 year old daughter calls it home when we come back. It was just the two of us staying but it was relaxed, excellent facilities ie fully equipped kitchen, great selection of bedrooms to choose from and great living spaces especially the upstairs living room which is very spacious. I have recommend this place to my friends and they think its also amazing. The owners were to me the best though. They are so friendly and have been so kind to us both and it's to their credit as I will be coming back again and again. Also the golf club has an excellent restaurant and bar and is very friendly too. I would strongly recommend a family or a romantic retreat to stay here as it is a special place to my daughter and I. Thank you for letting us stay and we will be back soon. — -, 10 Apr 2016
We spent a week in this wonderful house in the heart of Conwy. It is very spacious and has all the facilities, including a play room for the children. Definitely recommend the place. — -, 04 Apr 2016
We spent a fabulous Easter break at this beautifully decorated Lodge with our two daughters and their friends. The place was superbly equipped with everything from dishwasher tablets, board games, books & dvds to name just a few. The location was fabulous, views across the golf course and the bar & restaurant on site, were a bonus as nobody had to drive. Tenby itself is a lovely little town with a stunning beach & independent shops. Would definitely recommend it. — -, 04 Apr 2016
Stayed at cysgod y coed for 3 night over the weekend. An absolute amazing pleasure to stay. The location was peaceful, and perfect as it was only a mile and half from the town centre. The inside of the lodge was spotless and extremely well decorated . The underfloor heating treated us well as it was very warm and cosy there, but also perfect for the summer with the big skylight and balcony . Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be going back again! — -, 16 Mar 2016
ust wanted to say thank you so much for our stay in your beautiful home. It was so comfortable, warm and cosy we did not want to leave! We enjoyed wondering around Tenby. Had an amazing day at Folly Farm, especially on the fun fair rides and Saundersfoot beach was a breath of fresh air, and blew away the cob-webs! — -, 05 Nov 2015
Lovely clean and comfortable accommodation. There was a nice warm feeling to the property which was in a good location with plenty of things to do and explore. — -, 29 Oct 2015
We stayed in this lodge for five nights and it was an absolute pleasure. This property has the wow factor and it really made our holiday enjoyable. We are in the rental business ourselves having a 5star apartment in N Ireland and we know what standards are expected and this property ticked all the boxes. Highly recommended. — -, 23 Sep 2015
This is the second time we have stayed in Cysgod-y- Coed and because of its comfort and cleanliness would not dream of booking any other holiday let when staying in West Wales. The weather wasn't fantastic during our week so having all the comforts of home made up for it. The leather sofas upstairs are really comfy and the kitchen is well equipped. It is very peaceful in the lodge and Sunday lunch in the Trefloyne Manor Hotel was delicious, with the added benefit of being just across the road from the lodge, so my husband and I could both enjoy a couple of glasses of wine without the usual argument about who was driving home!!! — -, 19 Aug 2015
This is my second stay at the property and it was just as good as I remembered. Clean, bright and spacious living areas with all you need for a relaxing break. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathrooms modern and stylish. The kitchen is fantastically stocked if you feel like cooking but if not we had some great meals over at the on-site golf club in the beautiful terrace restaurant. Tenby is also right on your doorstep with many other attractions only a short drive away. The location is beautiful and blissfully quiet and the whole booking process was straight forward and trouble free. I have no doubt I will return with my family in the future. — -, 16 Aug 2015
This is certainly the best rental property we have ever stayed in,and we have stayed in a lot! It is cosy, immaculate, relaxing,in a perfect location,it as everything you need, and with it being situated on the edge of a golf course, amongst tall trees,it was like staying in a huge tree house! Absolutely loved it and Tenby and indeed Pembrokeshire. We are definitely going to return next year. — -, 20 Jul 2015
We all had a great time. The lodge is beautiful and felt very homely. Everything was there that we needed, and spent lots of time at the golf club and in Tenby. — -, 09 Jul 2015
It was such a wonderful surprise to find a property that looked even more beautiful in reality than in the photos! A wonderful holiday home that is beautifully presented and has everything you need for a perfect stay. Me, my sister and our husbands took our recently widowed mum away for a much needed break. We chose Tenby as it is where we spent many happy family summer holidays. The lodge offered the tranquil surroundings we needed and it is perfectly situated on a lovely golf course which also offers a great clubhouse and great food! Thank you Trafford and Lynne for sharing your wonderful lodge :-) — -, 07 Jul 2015
Lovely swedish designed property in secluded location (by a golf Club and course). Spacious and very well furnished, comfortable, and well equipped - it handled the 6 adults comfortably (which is necessary as it can rain in this part of Wales!). Friendly, helpful owners. You'll need a car to get about / do shopping (only one road in and out) although good walks from here - its a 20min walk to Tenby via the caravan site, 15 mins to the beach. Good location to explore from and welcoming retreat to return to. — -, 06 Jul 2015
We stayed here for one week, my husband & I, and my mum & dad. What a lovely relaxing place to come to if you need to de stress!! Trafford the Owner is a pleasure to deal with and all went smoothly from start to finish. We had lunch one day at Trefloyne Manor and was really good, just next door to the lodge is worth going u wont be disappointed. We also had a lovely meal on our lastnight for our wedding anniversary at The Cross Inn in Penally not too far away either Just a Ten minute drive away. You don't need for anything in the lodge everything is supplied for you, you just need to bring yourselves and food. Cant fault a thing really. Living Areas are really comfy, Bedrooms also and the bathrooms are really nice, very good water pressure. My only negative would be that you need a car to get around to the surrounding places to visit and how far away the sea is. But that is not the lodges fault!! I am sure you can walk to the beach and also Tenby but I imagine would take about 30mins. Unfortunately my Husband has cancer and gets tired very easily so the car was the best option for us. I would love to come here in the winter time, with my kindle and Hudl, lots of food and goodies and just chill all nice and snuggly for a week, would be bliss. — -, 24 Jun 2015
Spent a fabulous few days in Cysgod y Coed over the new year. The chalet reminded us of the type you may stay in on a skiing holiday and was beautifully presented, clean and spacious. The surroundings were peaceful with an atmospheric old golf club next door in which to enjoy a drink. Lynn and Trafford were super hosts and were clear and quick to communicate with. Pembrokeshire is a stunning part of Wales and this was a perfect place from which to explore nearby Tenby and the surrounding coastline. Highly recommended. — -, 04 Jan 2015
Where do I start? From start to finish our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. Located within a golf resort - you feel you are miles away from Tenby town, when you are actually a 5 minute drive away. The lodge itself was comfortable and luxurious. We cooked our own food (bought from the local market), and watched movies in a spacious upstairs lounge area. Everything was spotless! We had the best roast dinner ever on the Sunday in the Trefloyne Manor House - a 50 yard walk from the lodge. Looking forward to returning at Christmas for a festive stay! — -, 06 Nov 2014
We stayed here over the Ironman weekend and its the perfect accommodation for athletes and supporters. The large kitchen was very well equipped for those that are looking to use the self catering facilities. There were a number of store cupboard essentials in the kitchen which were very useful. The main living area is very spacious, comfortable and a superb place to relax. For any triathletes the accommodation is close to Tenby and just off the IM bike course so perfect for race weekends or training. — -, 22 Oct 2014
Wow, what an amazing property. We stayed at Cysgod y Coed for 9 nights in September/October 2014. The chalet is perfectly furnished & very well equipped with everything you could ever want or need. Feels just like being at home. Very luxurious & comfortable. Within walking distance of Tenby, with a footpath on your doorstep. Trafford & Lynn were very helpful & quick to respond to any queries we had about anything. Would recommend to anyone without reservation - would definitely stay again. — -, 12 Sep 2014
We stayed here for one week at the end of August 2014. As soon as we entered I felt relaxed. The children thought it was amazing and loved their space downstairs. We loved the fact that there were two distinct living areas with a large room downstairs for all the family and a lovely lounge upstairs for grown up evenings. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and having the use of the washing machine and dryer was an added bonus. The house was warm and cosy and the showers hot and powerful. The sofas were lovely and comfy as were the beds. The bluray player and BT hub / TV meant we had plenty to watch in the evening but we did take our own films too. It is by far the best holiday home we have stayed in whilst holidaying in the UK but you get what you pay for! We weren't disappointed. It I had to be picky then the only improvement I would suggest making would be to put up more hooks to hang coats / dressing gowns etc but if that's all I can say about the place then it's pretty near perfect!! The surrounding area was quiet and even the wedding party at the manor house didn't interrupt our evening. We didn't make it over into the manor house so can't comment on that but as outsiders looking in we were impressed with what we did see. The booking process was very easy, as was any communication I had with the owner Trafford. We loved Broadhaven beach and Freshwater West had the best rock pools I have ever seen. Freshwater West has lifeguards and the body boarding was fantastic for all the children (ages 6, 9, 11 and 46!) — -, 01 Sep 2014
Just returned from a wonderful weeks break in this truly lovely accommodation. I won't call it a holiday home because that's not what it felt like. It had all the comforts and little touches of staying in someone's own home and a very beautiful one it was. On a practical side the kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of plates, pans etc. The wi-fi was an excellent speed and the media in the main lounge all set up perfectly and good quality, as is everything in the house. The beds were comfortable and luxurious and the bathrooms modern with great showers. The setting is wonderful. The golf club is so close and runs a really friendly bar and excellent restaurant. There is a woodland path behind the Manor that was good for exploring as well. The house is close to lots of great days out. We particularly enjoyed Heatherton sports park and Picton castle with its stunning gardens. There are plenty of beaches close and we walked down to the beach at Penally on a couple of occasions in 20 minutes. Tenby is a constant source of enjoyment with so many places to eat and enjoy a night out. The whole process of booking from start to finish was trouble free and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you very much Trafford. I'm sure we will be returning in the future! — -, 17 Aug 2014
What a fantastic week we had here with our 3 teenagers at the end of July! The house is spacious, extremely comfortable, well equipped and beautifully decorated. What sets this place apart from others are the numerous thoughtful extra’s like kitchen ingredients, toiletries, washing powder, good selection of books and DVD’s, … the list is endless. It felt more like being a guest in someone’s home and offered a more personal experience. Our kids really appreciated the strong WiFI connection. The location is perfect; it’s central enough to visit a number of places in South Pembrokeshire (and north if you don’t mind driving a bit further), yet peaceful enough to totally unwind and relax after a day out. If you don’t feel like eating in or going in to Tenby for a meal, the restaurant at Trefloyne Manor offers good food and is less than a minutes walk from the house. The owners, Trafford and Lynn, were very friendly and quick to answer any emails during the booking process and our stay. They also gave many useful tips on what to see, do and good places to eat. Highly recommended! — -, 08 Aug 2014
